A Positive Approach to Teen Health is a 501c3 educational nonprofit organization committed to equipping, empowering and encouraging teens to make healthy choices. We are dedicated to providing teens and their support systems (parents, teachers, youth workers, clergy, and community) with a wide variety of relevant and effective programs that will make a positive impact on the individual and the community.

Located in Valparaiso, Indiana, we locally serve seven counties representing more than 23 school districts and over 15,000 youth. Our programs are currently being used in several other states and we are excited to announce our new Planned Potential Curricula due out in the fall of 2011!

Planned Potential
A classroom curricula designed for middle-school students with an effective combination of positive youth development and sex-education. This curricula offers 15 hours of age-appropriate and medically accurate information through inter-active and multi-media lessons.

Liv.True
An after-school mentoring program geared for middle and high school age youth. With a wide variety of topics including; bullying, relationship violence, media influences and more, students are encouraged to come to their own conclusions and make healthy choices that will build their character and provide them with much needed life-skills.

Peer Mentoring
An opportunity for High School students to grow their character and use their influence in a positive manner amongst their peers. High school students complete an application and interview process as the beginning of this exciting experience.

EEE Parenting Seminars
Offered every quarter at the PATH office. These seminars are open to parents and other adults who work with youth. These seminars are 1-1/2 hours in length meeting for 3 consecutive weeks discussing topics such as "How to have the talk" "Texting, Sexting and Social Networking" "Parents: roles and responsibilities" and more.

American Teens in Crisis
An annual professional seminar offered each spring to those professionals and parents who make teens a primary part of their lives. With keynote speakers specializing in youth health and culture these full-day seminars are a valuable tool for anyone who works with teens.

No Regrets Tours
Opportunity to learn more about A Positive Approach to Teen Health! These one hour 'mission tours' allow you the opportunity to meet board members, staff and students. Come learn firsthand what PATH is all about. You'll hear about our history, our current happenings and our vision for the future.

Volunteers - a valuable and vital part of the PATH team! If you have a heart for teens, we want you! It's really easy to make a difference in the lives of teens, it's all about time, communication and building relationships. Help us engage, encourage, and empower the youth of Northwest Indiana.

Interns & Service Learning-we have many exciting opportunities for you to use your education, skills, gifts and talents while you continue to learn and experience new things in the world of a non-profit organization. Opportunities include working with youth at a mentoring site, management, business aspects including marketing, data entry, graphic designs, grant writing, budgeting and more. Our home office is located in Valparaiso and this is where you can work alongside professionals in nearly every aspect of business.
