We encourage abstinence from drugs, alcohol, relationship violence, and sexual activity outside of marriage. Why? Because these choices for teens bring freedom and opportunity for awesome lives. Isn't that a sweet deal?
PATH’s mentor/tutor program reaches over 100 students with weekly opportunities for mentoring and tutoring through our after school programs. A-TEAM desires to see every teen make the wisest choices, allowing them to live healthy, successful, and productive lives.
Each week, A-TEAM mentors meet with at-risk teens, in their own communities. Currently A-TEAM meets in these Indiana communities: Michigan City, Portage, Hammond, and North Judson.
A-TEAM is funded through the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) tax incentives. Your donation not only provides this great programming for kids, but gives Hoosiers a fantastic Indiana state tax incentive. Call us for details.
A-TEAM provides small group counseling sessions to encourage healthy choices by abstaining from drugs, alcohol, and sex outside of marriage. Life-skills such as boundary setting, decision making, and relationship building are all examples of topics discussed through this mentoring program. Mentors bring complicated and confusing issues down to earth with stories, games, videos and group discussions to promote healthy choices.
A-TEAM offers a tutoring component to provide educational assistance to youth reducing their risk of academic failure. Helping kids with academics is another way to reduce high school dropout rates, and encourage wise decision making.
Luz S. Wilson, Director of A-TEAM says…
“While getting to know these wonderful students through time spent talking about life issues such as anger, prejudice, school, politics, and home life, it becomes obvious that these are remarkable students. I feel they deserve the very best and it is the goal of A-TEAM and PATH to provide them with services that meet their needs.”
